About the Band
Five Minute Fiction is where stories become songs. Built around the idea that a song can be more than a chorus looking for a rhyme, Five Minute Fiction explores small stories, strange perspectives and the thoughts that usually live somewhere between the lines. There isn't one sound. Country might collide with rock. Something dark might arrive wrapped in an upbeat melody. A song about loss can sit beside one about rebuilding, falling in love, losing control, or a chicken convinced he's a seagull. Some songs begin with real experiences. Others with a single sentence, an image, a joke or a question that refuses to go away. They are written and shaped with human ideas at their core, using AI as part of the creative process to turn those ideas into finished music. There are no stadium ambitions and no promises to change the world. We're just making songs we want to hear, telling stories from angles we haven't heard before, and seeing where they go. If a few of them stay in your head afterwards, Five Minute Fiction has done its job.

About The Woven Roots Co. The Woven Roots Co. is a small independent creative studio built around one simple idea: make things that mean something. We create stories, music, art and digital experiences, sometimes for entertainment, sometimes because we think they might genuinely help someone, and often because an idea was simply too interesting to leave sitting on the table. Our growing collection includes the fantasy novel The Misadventures of Hightrees & Yibnib: Shattered Island, three colouring books with a Christmas collection on the way, the free Yibnib Sensory App created with neurodivergent children in mind, and music from Five Minute Fiction, including the debut EP Catatonic and the twelve-track album The Aftermath. The projects may look very different, but they're connected by the same philosophy. We aren't interested in creating things simply because we can. We want to build things with personality, purpose and a reason to exist. Some make people laugh. Some offer somewhere to escape for a while. Some help people play, communicate or explore the world in their own way. Some are just very loud songs. Different roots. Different ideas. One growing world. The Woven Roots Co.
